7月2日 Specially for distant families - Part 1...Thursday 23 June, it's the coldest recorded day in Sydney in over 5 years. Just 6 degrees, and it's sparrowfart... I'm waiting in my brightest fleece to pick up Mary and Rachel at Sydney International Aiport. They're here for "A week of sun" despite arriving 2 days after our Winter Solstice....
Just 2 days later, Saturday 25th, and Mary & Rachel brave showers & gloomy forecasts (for Sydney that is) to go surfing at the world famous Manly Beach.
To get there, they take the Express Bus into the city, then a train (for one stop) to Circular key, which is nestled between the Bridge and the Opera House 5月2日 Foxy Lady back in the waterCracks appearing In December I noticed the appearance of a crack in the transom of my boat. At first it seemed just like a small split in the gelcoat strapping, but over the summer, it got worse. I also noticed on the left side of the crack, the inside of the transom was expanding (presumably due to water) protruding. As we use the boat primarily for waterskiing, and people climb over that side of the transom, the crack was a touch unsettling. Vendor Management I approached the dealer (who had put a stanless step on that side of the transom) as I've never seen this type of damage in a boat before. They contacted Gemini, who recommended I take it to another dealer and have the boat looked at. Britton Marine, in Taren Point are the Gemini Dealer that provide these boats to all the Police, Armed Forces, as well as Surf life Organisations in Australia. They duly had their Fibre Glass expert have a look, and he repaired it for me Insurance Unfortunately, the crack wasn't covered under warranty, due to the age of the hull. However, the cost of the fix was less than excess on my boat insurance..... Expensive things, boats - but we are back in the water again Next thing I need is Painted Numbers.... |
